This is a project by James Paddick and Reggie Prenci where we use Point Cloud technology to create scans and explore the Barbican and the St Giles Cripplegate Church at the Barbican. With this we want to show the contrast between the desolate looking modern brutalist building, which is the Barbican and the much warmer decorative old architecture of the church, and  how they can coexist in such a close proximity basically within the same community. We use the look of the Pointcloud and the idea that it is this new futuristic technology to compliment the look of the Barbican by taking brutalist architecture which is very simplistic broken down shapes and breaking it down even more into small squares. It also creates this surreal and dystopian look, which works very well with the surreal and dystopian feeling you get when you walk around the Barbican.
